What to do with all of those beautiful shells you’ve collected at Ocean’s Reach?
On your next visit to the island, do what our friends Mary and Jerry H. from Overland Park, KS did: Meet up for creative ideas from the Shell Crafters, an imaginative group of artisans who gather every Monday morning at the Sanibel Community House.
As you can see, our friends ended up with a beautiful shell bouquet that is sure to become a conversation starter back home!
The Shell Crafters keep busy year round creating one-of-a-kind intricate pieces of art, ranging from jewelry to floral arrangements, many of which make their way to the Annual Shell Fair each March. The group also holds classes every week for island guests interested in the hobby, and come summertime, they always outdo themselves with their shell-tacular Fourth of July parade float.
