Longtime guest George P. from Paducah, KY, wowed us recently with his beach haul found just between Ocean’s Reach and Algiers Beach earlier this month.
His prize catches included four amazing Horse Conchs and two beautiful Shark Eye shells.
Fun facts? Florida declared the Horse Conch our official “State Seashell” in 1969. And despite their name, Shark Eyes, known for being a serious predator, are almost completely blind. They don’t have any mechanism for hearing sounds either, which makes their sense of smell extraordinary!
