Hooray — Baileyfest is almost here!
The 33rd annual Baileyfest celebration will be held on Sunday, October 21 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Bailey’s Corner Shopping Center, located at the corner of Periwinkle Way and Tarpon Bay Road.
In addition to the traditional crowning of the king and queen, who will arrive in a mule-drawn carriage, the free community gathering will feature live entertainment, inflatable slides and bounce houses, games, raffles and giveaways, face-painting, pony rides, food and refreshments, information booths from local service organizations plus plenty of other “surprises.”
Among the performers scheduled to appear at Baileyfest are Conchalele Bob & The Seagles, John Stey, Another Door Opens, The Country Chicks, The Country Rhythm Cloggers directed by Pat Bedingfield, as well as The Sanibel School Steel Drum Band and Chorus. Emcee and singer Frank Torino will entertain Baileyfest crowds with his renditions of classic songs made famous by Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Tom Jones. In addition to games for youngsters and inflatable activities, Baileyfest will give away prizes and gift certificates donated by local merchants.
As always, Baileyfest is free to attend and open to the public. For more information, contact Bailey’s General Store at 239-472-1516.
