Every winter, a spotlight shines on the small town of Plant City, as that is when Florida strawberries are ripe and ready to be picked!
Not only is this charming town as quintessential as it gets, but from December to March, people descend on Plant City to score some seriously fresh fruit. In fact, it’s known as the “Winter Strawberry Capital of the World” and has hosted the annual Florida Strawberry Festival for more than 80 years.
Best of all, Plant City is an easy day trip from Ocean’s Reach, nestled between the cities of Tampa and Lakeland. Berry sweet, indeed!
