The Sanibel Community House — beloved gathering spot for islanders and home to the Kiwanis Spaghetti Dinner, outdoor juried art shows, community potluck dinners and much more — will be undergoing a construction facelift this summer. After eight years of planning, the project just broke ground this month and all is a “go” for completion late fall.
Members of the community are looking forward to a major interior expansion and flexible floor plan along with updated kitchen facilities, renovated lobby and covered entrance. The updates will accommodate larger audiences and more programming with larger office and conference space and upgraded production and technology equipment.
We’ll keep you posted on the progress which can currently be seen as you ride along Periwinkle Way. There’s more to look forward to on Sanibel Island!
