Our Dahoon holly tree is a fall favorite for guests who enjoy watching the changing of the seasons at Ocean’s Reach. Radiant red berries are ripening and providing an excellent food source and nesting space for hungry birds.
The Dahoon holly tree tolerates moist soil and salt spray and is an optimal choice for planting along the edges of ponds, lakes and streams. It is a slow growing evergreen tree native to the eastern United States. Because the Dahoon holly is a plant species whose male and female flowers are on separate plants, only the female Dahoon holly produces the bright red berries for which our holly is best known.
Feast your eyes this fall on our berry colorful tree.
