Although we know how difficult it is to leave your beach chair most days, we also understand that sometimes you just get an itch to see more of what Florida has to offer. We can’t blame you, and although we occasionally highlight other fun things to do nearby in our state, we thought we’d spend this week highlighting some easy “day trips” from Ocean’s Reach!
For instance, if you’re an adrenaline junkie who is looking for a high-flying adventure, check out Air Adventures in the St. Petersburg / Clearwater area, about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Sanibel Island.
At Air Adventures, you can “sky surf” in a SeaRey aircraft, the world’s most popular light sport amphibious aircraft. Nicknamed the “flying boat,” this aircraft allows you to skim along white-sand beaches or soar high above the Skyway Bridge. It’s safe to say that this qualifies as a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
