Ask the Curator

Visitors to the Edison & Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers enjoy 20 acres of historical buildings, historic gardens, the Edison Botanic Research Lab and the Edison Ford Museum. The newly restored buildings include the Edison Main House, Guest House, and Caretaker’s House and the Ford House. Guest favorites include the 1929 historic landscape with the award-winning Moonlight Garden, and the Edison Ford Museum which houses hundreds of inventions, artifacts and special exhibits.

While the Estates are open daily from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., “insiders” know that visiting on a Wednesday is extra special, as their weekly “Ask the Curator” sessions open up a world of even more fascination.

Upcoming topics include:

  • July 12 – What was Edison’s favorite sport? Join the fun with Site Program Manager & Historian Holly Shaffer as she talks about Edison and his favorite sport.
  • July 19 – Want to know more about the Ford V-8 engine? Explore this topic with Chief Curator Brent Newman.
