Lisa and her family traveled up to North Carolina recently to celebrate as daughter, Marin, graduated from historic Davidson College. In addition to commencement, they enjoyed a full weekend of activities, including a unique graduation picnic held on the grounds of a quarry in nearby Mooresville.
Marin received a four-year scholarship as part of the school’s prestigious Bonner Scholars Program, during which she completed 280 hours of community service each year. One of her favorite projects was assisting at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church preschool, where they surprised her with a special goodbye “butterfly release” in her honor. Knowing Marin, it’s easy to understand how the kids fell in love with her as quickly as she fell in love in them!
Marin graduated with a B.A. in Art History and hopes to one day work as a museum curator. In the meantime, she’s enjoying time with family — after a quick visit home to Sanibel for a few weeks, she’s off on a cross-country road trip to join big sister, Brenna, out on Whidbey Island, Washington, for the rest of the summer!
