Southwest Florida now has a place for Thai-style rolled ice cream — or a “spot” to be more precise. Ice Spot recently opened its doors at the Bell Tower Shops in South Fort Myers, just about a half-hour drive from Ocean’s Reach.
What is Thai-style rolled ice cream? Picture a unique frozen treat that is made by first pouring a liquid ice-cream base onto a flash freezing anti-griddle. It’s then mixed with toppings — everything from fresh berries and pistachios to mint Oreos and chocolate chip cookies — and carefully scraped into fanciful rolls.
As you can see, the dish looks more like a bouquet of flowers than an ice cream sundae!
