C’mon out to support a great cause!
The American Legion Post 123 on Sanibel will host its 11th Annual Redneck O-limp-ics this Sunday, May 26.
Opening ceremonies will take place at noon, with all sorts of fun and wacky activities to follow.
Events include an assortment of contests that some may consider “lost art,” such as: Nail Driving … Beer Can Toss … Dirtiest Work Truck … Lizard Catch and Release … Beer Belly Contest … Beer Can Crushing … Rustiest Tool … Belching Contest … Tire Toss … Beer Carry Obstacle Course … Dirtiest Sneaker Contest … Watermelon Bowling … and of course, the Beer Drinking Contest (which in the past has always seemed to tie, so they usually do it twice).
Gold, silver and bronze painted beer cans will be handed out as trophies to the winners.
The menu for the day will feature burgers, hot dogs, barbecue ribs and barbecue chicken. All food and drink sales will benefit our veterans.
Activites will run til 8:00 p.m., so all are welcome to come out for what is sure to be an entertaining day.
