After being dark for more than a year, the former Zoomers amusement park just across the Causeway has revved back to life under new owners and a new name: FastTrax Entertainment.
And the remodeled facility is already getting great reviews!
According to a recent News-Press article, Fort Myers resident Brianna Coon-Walsh, taking a break from duckpin bowling with her 10-year-old daughter, was quoted as saying “We used to come here all the time. It’s 800 times better now!”
The word is starting to get out after quietly opening last month. FastTrax has new go-karts, more than 60 new video and arcade games, two bars, an expanded kitchen for the new Brickyard Bistro restaurant, and the first “duckpin” bowling alley in Southwest Florida.
FastTrax now boasts two go-kart tracks — one 700 feet long, and the other 333 feet — which can be combined into one huge, 1,100-foot long “mega track.” Unlike the previous carts, the new ones are all-electric and can reach speeds of up to 45 mph, with enhanced safety features.
There’s still a midway full of carnival rides, mostly left over from the previous Zoomers. Coming soon: a new two-level covered patio seating area and bumper-car pavilion.
