Second Time Around

Discarded hubcaps transformed into fine art?  Come see for yourself as the Center for the Arts Bonita Springs showcases a traveling exhibit of 35 up-cycled hubcaps, where the “metal canvases” highlight inventive ways to re-use and recycle scraps in a fresh way.

“Second Time Around: The Hubcap as Art” features work by artists who answered a challenge to reclaim rusted automobile hubcaps and transform them into their own artistic statements on environmental issues.

Not only are these metal scraps saved from the landfill, they are repurposed to convey creative and political messages about consumption in American culture.

The exhibit runs through October 20, 2018, with gallery hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The center is located at 26100 Old 41 Road in Bonita Springs.
