A “Must See” alert!
Following its stellar success in Europe, Asia and Australia, the multi-sensory Van Gogh Alive exhibition is now available to experience at the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg through April 11, 2021.
The exhibition features more than 3,000 Van Gogh images at enormous scale, viewed through high-definition projectors and synchronized to a powerful classical score. Quotes pulled from the numerous letters he wrote during his lifetime fill the giant screens on the walls and floors, as well.
From his famous “Starry Night” to his radiant “Sunflowers,” Van Gogh Alive invites viewers to engulf themselves in color, light and sound as they feel the sensation of walking right into Van Gogh’s masterpieces.
While very much an art installation, Van Gogh Alive is also an immersive storytelling experience that walks you through the artist’s turbulent life and his progression as an artistic genius.
The Dalí is the first North American venue to host this mesmerizing version of Van Gogh Alive. Located waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg, about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Ocean’s Reach, the museum is requiring advanced timed-tickets for all visitors in order to ensure social distancing. Dina brought her daughters to experience this innovative exhibit during the holidays, and Lisa is doing the same with her daughter later on this week. The Dali Museum is always worth a visit, and the new Van Gogh exhibit is yet another reason to visit Ocean’s Reach, where you can now stop and smell the sunflowers!
