Following a year’s worth of renovations, The Island Store on Captiva is once again open to shoppers!
The grocery and delicatessen shop offers wine, beer, produce, meats, essentials, medicines, souvenirs, drinks, cheeses, grab-and-go breakfast and sandwiches. The staff is working on adding hot deli products soon.
Bailey’s General Store on Sanibel purchased The Island Store about two years ago. The renovation project included both the shop’s interior and exterior, while maintaining Captiva’s architectural standards for historic buildings like it. The Island Store, officially registered as a historic building, once served as a boarding school.
The shop is currently open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Expanded hours are likely for in-season.
