Our family is heartbroken seeing the devastation to this beautiful island. We have been visiting for more than 20 years and always look forward to staying at Ocean’s Reach with its magnificent views. We hope the staff is safe and well and we look forward to seeing you all again in the future.
Our heart breaks for all of you on Sanibel. We have been coming there for 18 years and Sanibel has become our second home. We wish we could put on our work clothes and come down and help with the recovery. We will watch daily posts to see if there is a way we can help. You all are in our prayers.
I am very sad for all the people on the island such a beautiful place been there many times everybody be safe take care.
We are deeply saddened by the events of Hurricane Ian. Just relieved that everyone at Oceans Reach is safe. Can’t put into word how devastated we are for the people of Sanibel but do
hope that we can visit this wonderful Island again.
All of Florida, but specifically Sanibel Island, it’s residence and businesses are in our thoughts & prayers as everyone begins the long, tedious & arduous task of putting their lives, homes & businesses back together. It’s horrifying to see such utter destruction . It looks like a bomb exploded. I feel so heartbreakingly sad that our favorite vacation spot will be forever changed and will take years to recover. So thankful and grateful for everyone’s safety.
My husband and I have enjoyed several visits to Sanibel and specifically Oceans Reach. It has been our “happy place” to escape the rigors of work and day to day stresses. Our hearts are broken to see the destruction Hurricane Ian has caused. Our prayers are with those who have lost loved ones, those who have lost their homes, and those who have lost their livelihood. We look forward to the time when we will be able to return to Sanibel and the warm hospitality of its people.

Our hearts are broken for the loss and destruction left behind by hurricane Ian. We are praying for everyone affected directly and pray everyone is safe. We have treasured our stays on Sanibel and at oceans reach for the last 15 years and we can’t imagine a summer without making more memories there. We can’t even imagine the despair felt by the natives and those that called such a beautiful place home. Please know we are praying and donating to efforts to repair and rebuild. With love and prayers …

Andy,
The Wildmans love you. We are flying Penny and Richard home tomorrow. Our hearts are breaking for our beautiful little island and the community. We will see you again soon. Catherine (Wildman) Bogan.
Thoughts and prayers go out to all of you at Oceans Reach and all of Sanibel and Captiva. The destruction is truly heartbreaking. We wish you the best as you take on the daunting task of recovery and rebuilding. Sending love and hugs from Colorado 💙
Dear Oceans-Reach team, as longtime guests from Germany, we sincerely hope that all valued staff such as Lisa, Dina, Andy, Aldolfo and all others from the crew, are well and safe.
For us, the annual time out on Sanibel with the entrance to the Causeway was and is always like an entrance to paradise. Sanibel became (and is!) our second “home” where we feel so comfortable and well received.
Our thoughts go out to everyone on the Oceans Reach team, to all the residents on Sanibel Island.
We are sure: Sanibel says strong and has the strength to rebuild itself again. We are keeping our fingers crossed for this with all our hearts! And we are sure: We will see each other again!
Until then, our thoughts are with you all.
Andy,
We are so sorry that you are dealing with this. I was so happy to see the interview and learn of your safety. You have the thoughts, prayers and support of the Minelli Family.
God Bless,
Stacy Minelli

I was twelve the first we came over from Estero to swim and go shelling- on the ferry I believe- no causeway in 1952 ..My aunt and uncle has a house in FMB and our families enjoyed such happy reunions-then my sister and daughter and I came to Oceans Reach later on-heaven! My daughter and a friend were booked for. A vacation in June after their teaching was over🥲
We also would like to pitch in somehow-Oregon is so far-
Lots of best wishes

I like many others hold a special place in my heart for both the island of Sanibel and Ocean’s Reach. Relieved to learn that all are safe. I am interested in volunteering at the property or on the island in the coming weeks/months. If that indeed becomes a possibility, I would greatly appreciate any information you can share on the process.
My heart is heavy but the warmth of the sun and the sound of the ocean will once again be a soothing reminder of the love that radiates from the island.

So thankful all of the staff from Oceans Reach are safe and so thankful we came down last month. We have been coming to Sanibel since 1985 and Oceans Reach became our go-to place for relaxing vacations. We drove just about every road last month and spoke to locals and admired their beautiful homes. Such sweet, sweet people. Our prayers are with all of you and we will be back. It may take a while but we know that wonderful little island is loved by so many and we are all praying and pulling for you during this difficult time.
