Ocean’s Reach is reopening November 30, 2024!
At long last, we are delighted to invite you to once again visit our much-beloved “all oceanfront” condominium resort on Sanibel Island.
We continue to work non-stop to rebuild our complex after the shambles Hurricane Ian left behind nearly eighteen months ago. By late this year, we’ll be able to welcome you to beautiful new units, brand new amenities and our exquisite world-class beach just steps away.
Each and every one of our 64 fully-appointed and impeccably-maintained condominiums are directly beachfront, allowing you to enjoy breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico right from your very own living room. Once again, you’ll be able to step out onto your private lanai and breathe in the tropical air, feel the gentle gulf breeze and lose yourself in the sound of soft, rolling waves.
Sanibel Island is rebounding and coming back better than ever. Well over 100 small businesses have reopened — including restaurants, shops, art galleries, boating trips and nature excursions – and new names join the list every week. Some of the larger projects will extend into 2025 and beyond, but overall, we think you’ll be delighted in the way that islanders have repaired, reimagined and revitalized the incredible things to do here in anticipation of your return.
At Ocean’s Reach, we are now accepting reservations
for 7-night stays from
November 30, 2024 to April 25, 2025.
From January 4, 2025 – April 24, 2025, all reservations must have
a Saturday arrival and departure date.
PLEASE NOTE: We are working hard to have all of our 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units available by that timeline, but since units are currently in reconstruction, the information on our website – including unit photos and descriptions – remains pre-hurricane. As soon as the units are completed, our website will be updated.
Each of our units remain privately owned, so they will continue to be furnished and decorated differently, but rest assured that all will maintain the quality standards long befitting Ocean’s Reach. The rebuild is allowing our owners to upgrade their units and we’re excited to see what they come up with!
Should units become available prior to our published timeline, we will adjust our dates accordingly and notify everyone via our blog. Our goal is to be able to have our guests enjoy a fully “new and improved” Ocean’s Reach as much as possible, without having to deal with the numerous intrusions, noise factors and potential dangers caused by construction activity.
As new dates are added to our calendar, we also plan to add back our flexible travel schedules, as we know they are one of the reasons why guests return to Ocean’s Reach time and time again.
We can’t wait to welcome you back – or welcome you for the first time – to our special corner of the world! We appreciate your patience as we continue to work to restore the property so many have come to know and love. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at 800-336-6722 or 239-472-4554.
What wonderful news!! My husband and I had to evacuate from there 1 day before Ian hit, right in the middle of our 2 week vacation. We are very thankful we found a safe place in N. Naples to stay 4 nights. Ian knocked out the power after the first night, so it was a bit like camping. Our Sundsy flight was cancelled since the Punta Gorda airport was damaged. So we drove the rental car (which thankfully was not destroyed by Ian) up the coast to Ft. Walton Beach. Their airport had a direct flight home the following Sunday. It took two days to drive because of detours from flooding on I-75N. And no gas stations were open until Nokomis. We had 1/4 tank of gas left. I’ve never been so grateful to fill up a gas tank. We were lucky to find a decent room for one night in Sarasota.
We finally reached Ft. Walton Beach about 10:30pm. We
explored the Destin area all week for our first time. It was nice, but no seashells and we missed the magic of Sanibel and worried about how everyone was doing after Ian. My Uncle and cousin lost their vacation mobile homes in Ft. Myers, but luckily they we not staying during Ian. They were safe back in their IL homes.
We are looking forward to staying at beautiful Ocean’s Reach again! Thank you for all of your hard work!
If I am reading this correctly there are no longer check in dates during the middle of the week and no longer 10 day stays
Hi Scott, For this initial launch, we’re asking for a minimum 7-night stay during December 2024 but you can check in any day you’d like. For our “high season” (Jan – Apr) it will be a Saturday arrival and departure only, as we typically do, although you can stay as many weeks as you’d like! Please give our office a call at 800-336-6722 if you have any other questions. We hope to be able to welcome you back to Sanibel!
