Audubon Society Update

As many of our guests know, the weekly Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society presentations held each year during season are some of the most well-attended lectures of the year.

The Audubon Christmas Count is In!

The Sanibel-Captiva Audubon Society conducted its annual Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, Dec. 17.

The 136 birdwatchers split into groups and combed Sanibel and Captiva. They came in with 10,935 birds spread across 99 different bird species.

This year’s count of total birds is smaller than last year when 129 birders tallied more than 14,000 birds, but the species count is higher than last year’s 88 and just slightly below the 102 species seen in 2014.  » Read more
