A New Level of Virtual Reality

Strap on some virtual-reality goggles in Southwest Florida’s new Virtuix Omni Arena and get ready to battle zombies, pirates, robots and more!  This first-of-its-kind attraction for the area can now be found at Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park in nearby Cape Coral.

It’s not like the VR video games you play at home, where you may have to worry about accidentally hitting something or someone nearby.

Instead, you’re strapped into a harness inside a protective, hoop-like “Omni ring” that holds you in place.  You can move freely and at 360° full speed without getting hurt.  With six games from which to choose, it’s more fun than ever to try your hand at fighting zombies, pirates and robots, all while enjoying a new level of VR interaction and gameplay.

The approximately $150,000 arena is part of the renovated video-game arcade at Gator Mike’s.  All 45 arcade games are completely different from what was there in 2019, said owner Chris Scuderi.

Virtual reality is just one of numerous family-fun attractions to enjoy at Gator Mike’s, which also includes go-karts, mini golf, batting cages, wall climbing, ziplining and more.

Next up for the family fun center?  Plans for a new drive-in movie theater and a Mellow Mushroom pizza restaurant.

Gator Mike’s is located at 35 NE Pine Island Road in Cape Coral.  For more information, call 239-574-4386 or visit gatormikes.com.
