Like us humans, these snowbirds look forward to the warmth and easy living of a winter spent on Sanibel Island.
“Ding” Darling NationalWildlife Refuge on Sanibel is a haven for snowbirds of many species, including the American white pelicans. Bird watchers flock to the back waters of the refuge to view the return and abundance of the migrating birds. The white pelicans fly from as far away as Idaho, Minnesota and Canada and will spend the entire winter season on Sanibel before returning to their summer home.
Just like many of our own lovely “snowbirds” at Ocean’s Reach!
