The 12th annual “Scarecrows in the Park” returns as part of the popular family-friendly Lakes Park Fall Festival that runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Sunday, October 31.

Dozens of schools and local businesses will once again compete to see who will create the crowd favorite.  This year’s scarecrow theme is “Book Characters,” so don’t be surprised if you see literary friends from Dr. Seuss to Harry Potter in panaromic scenes along the paths of the Children’s Garden.

In addition, the festival will feature a Pumpkin Patch (farm fresh pumpkins for sale), family hayrides, bounce houses, carnival food, and — of course — the extremely popular Halloween Express nighttime train rides with tens of thousands of lights and holiday displays.

Lakes Park is located about 15 minutes from the Sanibel Causeway at 7330 Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers.
