Anoles are a type of lizard found throughout Florida and most likely you are already smitten with the tiny, evasive Cuban brown anoles on Sanibel. They are a source of wonderment and recreation for youngsters trying to catch them as easy care reptile pets.
Today we discovered by surprise, a lime green colored lizard. The green anole is the only anole species native to the U.S. and is less commonly found on Sanibel. They often change their color to blend in with the environment and take refuge in foliage, under fences and in trees.
