In Southwest Florida, the food truck craze started more than a decade ago, when Fort Myers chef Scott Sopher ventured to take his talent on the road. His mobile operation, the Nosh Truck, became an overnight success and soon other tasty truck fare started popping up at area farmer’s markets, parks and nightspots.
Downtown Fort Myers now hosts an annual “Food Truck Wars,” and our destination was featured in “The Great Food Truck Race” on The Food Network a couple of years ago. With weekly events like Fort Myers Brewing Company’s “Thursday Food Truck Rallies,” it’s safe to say these yummy meals on wheels won’t be rolling away anytime soon.
Where can you find one? Social media is the easiest way to keep tabs on their scheduled and impromptu stops throughout the week, along with special events they’ll be attending.
