Insights into “Gift from the Sea”

Marking its 66th anniversary this year, “Gift from the Sea” has sold over 3 million copies since its publication and has been translated into 45 languages.

The eldest granddaughter of author Anne Morrow Lindbergh, Kristina Lindbergh, will be featured at a panel discussion on the impact of her  grandmother’s book on Sun, Dec 5 at 4:00 p.m. at the Captiva Chapel by the Sea.

The bestselling book, inspired by a visit to Captiva, has inspirational messages that are still relevant today and remains on many Top 10 “Must Read” booklists.

The event will begin with a short documentary about Lindbergh created by the Captiva Island Historical Society, followed by the panel.

Kristina Lindbergh will be joined by Capt. Brian Holaway and Ken Sneeden, who will share their experiences about the book and its history with the island.

The event is free and open to the public, but advance reservations are suggested (click here).  There will be seating available inside and outside of the chapel.  At 5:00 p.m., refreshments will be served outside underneath the holiday lights.

The Captiva Chapel by the Sea is located at 11580 Chapin Lane, Captiva.
