Always one of our “best kept secrets,” the Sanibel Public Library is now an even nicer place to relax after completion of its three-year renovation project.
The “re-imagined” project has been described as mixing the latest in high tech library design trends with the laid back Sanibel aesthetic.
Enhancements include two new study rooms, new computer labs with fast internet, a “Think Tank” MakerSpace and an updated Teen Space. There is also a new Archives Room with digitization capabilities for easier scanning of photos.
Colors and textures are reflective of the island environment. The addition of 41 new floor-to-ceiling hurricane-proof windows maximize natural light and really “brings the outdoors in” so guests can continue to enjoy the library’s stunning views.
