Our guests are having a great time discovering the 15 playfully painted manatee sculptures around the island, all part of the “Manatee Madness” fundraiser benefiting affordable housing programs on Sanibel provided by Community Housing and Resources (CHR).
The CHR manatees have been transformed into whimsical, patriotic and passionate objects of art, including one entirely covered in Sanibel seashells that you can spot at Bailey’s General Store (pictured above).
The adorable sea cows will be placed up for auction in early April 2021. In the meantime, you can participate in the CHR fundraiser by voting for your favorite!
