Thomas Edison’s wife, Mina, was known for being a gracious hostess and concerned with the well being of children and the community. Following in her tradition, the Edison-Ford Winter Estates is offering a two-hour Etiquette at Edison Ford class on October 12th designed to teach etiquette and social skills to children ages 6-12.
Students will gather at the Edison Caretaker’s House for a lesson in good manners. The class will teach proper introduction, handshakes and dining etiquette during a three-course meal. Each student will receive a workbook and certificate of completion.
Classes are taught by Suzanne Willis who teaches etiquette classes at Ritz-Carlton hotels throughout the nation. Willis is a graduate of the Protocol School of Palm Beach and a Fort Myers native. She started the etiquette classes in honor of her grandmother, Florence “Mimi” Black.
Registration is required. Register online or call 239-334-7419. Cost: Edison Ford members: $75; non-members: $85. For more information on Mimi’s Manners, click here.
