Strength, Compassion and Hope

Our hearts go out to all those affected by the recent devastating wildfires on Maui.  It can be difficult to comprehend both how much was lost, as well as the grief and anguish left behind from such an unprecedented disaster.

As the Sanibel Island community and our own Ocean’s Reach “ohana” are rebuilding from Hurricane Ian, we want to send strength, compassion and hope to those whose lives have been upended by this tragedy.

While it has not been easy, our island has made tremendous progress in the months since the hurricane.  We want to send our heartfelt wishes to our fellow islanders in Lahaina that they may experience the same.

May your resilient spirit shine through.  Our hearts are with you.

  1. Thank you for your care and concern for Maui. That is the same care and concern you and your staff and for that matter the residents of Sanibel and Captiva have for their islands. Nancy and I have been back twice since Ian and stayed on Captiva but we so want to come back to Oceans Reach. My hope is that you will be able to invite to make reservations sooner than later. Looking forward to that day! Buck and Nancy Byrne, Columbus, Ohio

  2. Your spirit and that of all those on Sanibel is what makes it the greatest place on earth for a week of respite. Thank you for all of your hard work getting OR back to being the best place for our family to regroup and restore our souls

  3. We have visited Lahaina (about 20 years ago) and it was such a wonderful experience to visit. While our hearts still pour out to Sanibel, and Ocean’s Reach in particular, we pray that Lahaina will persevere the same way. I pray for the families that lost loved ones as well as those that are still missing. May God be with them all.

We are looking forward to the time we can come back to Ocean’s Reach and Sanibel; it’s our happy place!!

    God bless you

  4. It is so therapeutic to read these beautiful messages from so many of the OR extended family! Staying at OR has always been so joyous and restorative for our family. The last time we were there was for Christmas week, 2021. What a fabulous time! We keep researching other islands to visit, but no place else compares. I look forward to your reopening, and my beach walks at dawn!! Love to all! Beth. ❤️💕☀️🏝️🐚🪸🐠
