Wines in the Wild

When season is just around the corner, you know that an amazing array of fundraisers are about to take place!

A popular favorite is “Wines in the Wild,” where proceeds benefit the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation, or SCCF.

This year’s “wild” event will take place on Friday, November 9, from 6:30-9:00 pm at the beautifully lit Bailey Homestead Preserve.

Wines in the Wild guests will stroll among six stations on the Homestead grounds. Each will feature a savory dish from one of Sanibel’s finest kitchens. Returning Food Tasting Partners include Catering by Leslie Adams, Il Cielo, and Sweet Melissa’s Cafe. They will be joined this year by three new Food Tasting Partners – Cip’s Place, The Sanibel Catering Company, and Malia, one of Sanibel’s newest restaurants. The foods will be paired at each station with specially selected complementary wines. It will be a great opportunity to explore the grounds and unique features of the Homestead while sampling wines donated by Bailey’s General Store, the event’s returning Wine Tasting Partner. Guests will end the evening with a sumptuous dessert buffet in the Homestead Pavilion, music from the Danny Morgan Trio, and a live auction of very special experiences. There will also be valet parking sponsored by Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and a sweet surprise from Norman Love Confections.

Reservations for Wines in the Wild can be made by calling Founding Co-Chair Linda Uhler at 239-472-3817. Attendance cost is $125 per person. Because this event is likely to sell out in advance, tickets will not be available at the door. The event address is 1300 Periwinkle Way on Sanibel.
