Free Admission to the Historical Village
The Sanibel Historical Village will offer free admission for all visitors on Saturday, June 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Sanibel Historical Museum & Village tells the story of Sanibel from the Calusa and Spanish eras to the early pioneer families who settled on the island in the 1800s. It tells of warriors, adventurers, fishermen, farmers and proprietors.

Sea Turtle Rescue
The Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) Sea Turtle Hotline received a call last week reporting a sea turtle in possible trouble offshore. A male loggerhead sea turtle was found exhibiting abnormal behavior and having trouble surfacing for air.
SCCF staff quickly mobilized by first attempting to swim to the sea turtles aid; however, due to deep water, this was quickly realized to be ineffective. » Read more
