More than 20 glamorous upcycled fashion designs paraded across the stage recently at The Community House for the second Project Refuge: A Couture Fashion Show Using Trash.
A gala luncheon affair celebrating the 40th anniversary of the “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society, it featured many a unique style, each with an underlying environmental message.
The objective of the event was to bring awareness to the importance of repurposing used items and recycling appropriately. It was a fun way to inspire people to use waste materials to create new treasured items, and at the same time, hopefully kindling the spark of innovation for all in attendance.
