It’s Official!

Photo by Ocean’s Reach guests Dan Ferrell and Mary Dameron.

As many of you know, Sanibel Island was impacted by a severe red tide bloom in late July.  Throughout the summer, we were in constant communication with upcoming guests advising them of beach conditions and how they have been dramatically improving over the past two months.

We’re very pleased to report that official testing now shows red tide cells are NO LONGER PRESENT in the waters off our shorelines.

What’s more, the FWC — Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission — has just announced that they will now provide a daily update of water sampling results, in order to give the public more immediate and accurate data.  To view the map, visit MyFWC.com/RedTide and click on the “Red Tide Current Status” tab.

Many thanks to long-time guests Dan F. and Mary D. from Galesburg, IL for the beautiful photo from their recent visit.  We can’t think of a lovelier way to announce that our beaches are once again “officially” spectacular.
