On Higher Ground

Sea turtles innately know what’s best for raising their own. And these pictures show why they make their nests on higher ground. The recent gulf tropical storm presented Sanibel with rain showers that temporarily washed out parts of our beach. The most protected part of the beach? The sea turtle nests, of course.

Case in point, this photo from a couple of weeks ago, when effects from distant Tropical Storm Cindy included plenty of waves, higher tides and adventurous drop offs into the water.

The Comeback Kid

Our own Carl is a walking miracle and having him back at work these last few Saturdays proves it!

Catch!

This photo, taken last week, shows the wind walloping the waves into a foamy frenzy, thanks to a distant tropical storm.  Looks like it ended up providing father and son with a rocking rendition of the time-honored tradition of “catch”!
