Keeping the Coast Clean

international-coastal-cleanup

We love that so many of our guests and residents care about our coastline.

Case in point, many teamed up recently with the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF) and Keep Lee County Beautiful to help with the 30th annual International Coastal Cleanup.

While we don’t have this year’s numbers in yet, more than 2,050 volunteers helped out across Lee County last year. Together, they removed 5,000 pound of litter and debris from our beaches.  » Read more

After nearly three months, the Sanibel Fishing Pier has officially reopened following an extensive rehabilitation project.

From a recent article by Katy Nastro describing unique experiences on Sanibel, courtesy of Matador:

“If you spot a fin on these green-blue waters, don’t jump to any conclusions — odds are that fin is a friend. The waters of Southwest Florida are home to the bottlenose dolphin, a playful mammal looking for its next fish dinner. It’s not unusual to see these animals flooding the Gulf and putting on a show for everyone lucky enough to be around.  » Read more

We couldn’t be happier for our guests who make a special lifetime memory from their vacation at Ocean’s Reach. For some, a beautiful photograph becomes a contest winner. For this special guest, Andrew F. from Jupiter, Florida, a rare find to add to his already well-stocked shell collection —  » Read more
